The interrface has 3 buttons a record, stop, & pause button. You press the red rec button and it starts recording immediately giving yiu acount of how much disk space it is taking up,when you press stop the quicktime player opens with your new recording. It's 44.1 so you just you use the normal method of going File/Export & checking the options to make sure it is 48000 16 bit stero & import into FCP.
