Video Messed Up

i have dvd workshop 1.3, and im having a little bit of trouble importing an mpeg file. the file imports fine, but the video is messed up, and it won't allow me to go past 1:45:00 on a video that is 2:12:00... also, the chapters are not created correctly. The video also plays with some audio lag on the tv, and the whole video plays perfectly on the computer. What should i do :( thanx
