We have a lot of Super16 frames scanned for our clients, and the standard file size is 2048x1240. An academy frame scan actually has more pixels vertically, as it uses the full 4x3 academy dimensions on a 35mm frame.
And people do complain about 2k for DI. Here's an interesting link:

I've enjoyed this thread--and this forum. We've found Super16 better suited to our aesthetic needs and budgets so far, but really want to do an HD project someday!
