Thanks, Jason. Much obliged! I exhausted almost all I know of png in my previous post ;)

But I restate my point for clarity's sake.

PNG is really a format designed for mobility, not for image generation, and the cpu muscle needed to use it in generation is better spent elsewhere.

This escapes the attention when one merely manipulates images, as in layering or editing, but it is ALL there is when creating images one by one. I am aware of it simply because of the painting and some of the 3D. No other qualifications claimed ;)
