Shooting HDCAM with detail on will often result in the effect that Sean described. Since we always shoot with detail off we never have this type of problem. For green screen work we also shoot with the Matrix off (sounds like a movie) and the results we get are superb. I recently showed some 30Mbit 1080i MPEG2 TS material to Wally Biscardi (one of the best motion graphics guys I know). He was surprised and amazed when I pointed out that it was a key. HDCAM rocks ! You just have to know how to use it.
By-the-way since green constitutes more than 60% of the total chroma bandwidth in YUV video it's always best to shoot on green screen. Of course the opposite is true in film which is chemically more sensitive to blue. Just my two cents !
