I propose we use 22 to refer to HD sampling resolution. This would make full luma/full chroma (HDCAM SR) 22:22:22, full luma/half chroma (D5-HD) 22:11:11. Whether regular HDCAM is 17:6:6 and DVCPRO-HD is 15:9:9 or some other (fractional) numbers is open for discussion.

As a historic precedent take older telecinŽs that scan at double PAL/NTSC resolution - they are referred as 8:8:8 by users and manufactures. Of course this used make them sound good and this approach make current HD formats sound bad but it hopefully clears the confusion.
