Hey Jan.

[laguun] "to see how terrible HDcam can become, i recommend you take a look at
http://www.cinematography.net/HDCam%20V%20D6.htm "

This test has no relation what-so-ever to the current Quality of HD-CAM! It is old and just trying to be another exsample of why HD-CAM is bad for DOP's - I have offered to make the same test in SDTI - which in theory you should be able to make 45 generations before getting to the same of 7 in the land of HD-SDI to HD-SDI dubs.

And why did they dump to Inferno, when a straight tape-to-tape test would have done. The again, I only know of Taurus in Munich that has more than one D6 vtr under one roof - and the camcorder... - sorry, this test is one of my Pet hates - only because in my opinion it is not a professional benchmark, made by professionals that should know better...

I do agree that we need to push the boat further out on the Bits - and that seems to be happening with the new HD SR. Hopefully this can be transformed into affordable camera (dare I say camcorders:)

Interesting about Smoke on the high-end. Last time I looked, it did not have realtime grading and it is still on SGI?

Have you tried the FuryHD? Again I don't know much about that one - soo much to do and so little time.

All the Best
Mads
