To clarify what Bruno is saying.

Your workflow will have better quality for changes made in post as you are working uncompressed, but this is not enchanced by an SDI device like the DeckLink if you are not shooting in a 4:2:2 format like DigiBeta, DVCPro-50, D-9 with uncompressed SDI I/O.

SDI I/O does not make DV/DVCAM/DVCPRO-25 technically better as the information is not there due to 4:2:0/4:1:1 colour processing, 5:1 compression and other factors.

However DV does look better on an SDI monitor due to having a digital connection and better quality monitors (you can also see the faults in DV more clearly!), also most users view DV via a composite or S-Video(Y/C) connection.

To clarify what I was saying, having broadcast quality monitoring helps you get better result the same way having a better sound system helps you mix audio better.
