As far as I can tell, the differences are these:
1. Differing I/O. I think the DeckLink only supports embedded SDI audio. Which I guess would mean having some kind of converter/demuxer for monitoring if you don't have a SDI-in enabled deck. The Kona, by contrast, supports six channels of AES/EBU digital audio.
2. The support for 24p as Bruno mentioned. From what Grant said on this forum (I think), this will probably be included as a subsequent driver update.
Everything else seems to be at feature parity. However, this doesn't mean that the boards themselves are identical - they clearly aren't. What would be interesting to know is how much of the processing power of the two boards has been tapped. For instance, the Kona could have more headroom on it (in terms of power) than the DeckLink, allowing it to streak ahead in future upgrades.
Can anyone think of anything I've missed - I'd be really interested! Any further info, Grant?
cheers,
Tom
