Hi,

First and most importantly, thank you very much for your very helpful footage links and taking the time to address this issue. I really appreciate it.

I have not yet tried your "7 second rule" but can definitively say that no such guideline is followed in the making of any motion picture shot on film of any kind - Super 8, 16mm, 35mm or 70mm. No DP has ever been told to pan very carefully at a rate of 7 seconds or any other rate.

It seems what you mean to say is that the motion strobbing of DVX-100 CAN look similar to film IF you restrict it's movements to very slow pans. If this is the ONLY way to reduce the pronounced strobbing that I see, it is a significant creative handicap. I am hoping to shoot a feature with this camera and cannot have all camera moves retsricted to 7 seconds or longer. It's impractical, to say the least.

Steve
