Shutter was set to "Off"

Jay,
I am almost positive I set the shutter to "off". I think when you switch to 24P and the camera takes a moment to initialize those settings, the default is "Off" or 1/50 - I could be mistakened. I'll double check. In any case, should I set this to something other than "Off"?
Thanks for your help on this. I've seen your posts elsewhere and have appreciated them greatly.
