Pogle -> DigiBeta/D1/D5 -> Filmneg. route? Any objactions?>
That looks like the way to go and if you can use D5 it would certainly be better than DigiBeta. I'd master the edit to D5 too rather than DV because the DV deck will recompress.
The other question is in regard to the Avid. Are we talking Media Composer or DV Express? DV through AVR77 looks shocking, I'd never go that way if I could get out of it. DV Express uses the DV codec to recompress, Symphony's OK but not as good as some others, Kona or Digital Voodoo for instance.
Ideally I'd use a DV deck with SDI output and online uncompressed with say FCP and Kona. Master the edit to D5-> pogo-> D5-> neg.
Only 1 compression stage versus 5!
