Andrew,
The factory set shutter positions accessed from the shutter switch in the film user menu are all shutter angles (180 degrees 90 degrees etc.). To maintain a constant exposure during a ramp you need to set the shutter to a specific exposure time (1/100 second or 1/60 second would be best).
Go to engineering menus page 2
Shutter select
Change position 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 to either 1/100 or 1/60.
exit the menu
Now your shutter switch will let you access that fixed exposure time you have selected, and you can avoid exposure changes during a ramp.
