Re: Rental of the AJ-1200A

For a while, the 1200A was hard to find, but now many rental houses here in LA have inventory including Birns and Sawyer, Wexler, Bexel, Deck Hand Video and even my company "John Sharaf Photography".

The prices vary widely, as does availability and the rental companies are not especially expert at using the gear in the post production environment as very few of them deal with FCP, which is the only compatible Firewire solution.

Another common problem for the independent producers is the requirement for insurance when renting from any conventional rental house vendor. My solution for this dilemma is to offer you space in my shop to bring your computer and digitize here. Feel free to contact me off list if it comes to that.
