URGENT Varicam/1200A Frame Rate Problem

Hi All,

I am trying to digitize 2 short films that we shot on Varicam at 24 (23.8) via firewire on a 1200A into FCPHD 4.5.

Now I know that the tapes are flagged as 24p because I did it myself on set. For some reason though, the deck has gone into 30fps mode and won't come out of it. Even in Final Cut it only has 30p timecode and as I single frame though it I can see it making pulldown frames! And then when I digitise the footage it will only come in at 60p (59.97) no matter how I try and warp the settings.

The really odd thing is that it worked for about 3 hours then for no reason went into this mode. CAN ANYONE HELP? The problem is that I am the first person to use the deck from the rental house and the only other clients of theirs shoot at 60 so no-one here in Melbourne knows anything about it.

It is driving me mad. Should I get a seperate firewire card for the deck to run off. Will this solve everything? I have done a factory reset on the deck, I have uninstalled my Blackmagic card and drivers, I have repaired permissions and pre-bindings.

Is there anything I am meant to do that I don't know about?

Please, any advice would be fantastic.
