[ Robert ] DVCPRO HD is fine to lay back to, and yes, there will be progressive frames, but you will have pull down frames which will oscillate if you freeze frame on them (which is not usually a concern on a finished program deliverable....more of a concern during editorial or titling).

Not true. DVCpro HD will never "oscillate if you freeze frame" because it is a true progressive format. Coupled with Final Cut Pro HD, you can shoot 24p, edit 24p and master to 24p with the AJ-HD1200AP deck. The transport is 60p, yes, but this is not an issue, nor does it concern the end user. The AJ-HD1200AP deck can output 1920x1080@24 frames per second from tapes edited like this in Final Cut Pro HD. It's a great mastering format, and an incredibly smooth workflow.

The only problem so far seems that users, who I believe have not yet tried the workflow, or are misinformed, keep repeating information like this.
