That is not true, Robert. Sounds like you've been talking too much with Steve Wargo lately.

If I understood correctly, David wants to capture to FCP uncompressed 1080p24 from his 720p24 over 60 tapes from his VariCam. I outlined a working (I used it every day) workflow that _works_.

You can even output 720p24 from FCP and FCP will automatically insert the 720p24 over 60 flagged frame information. This is a no-brainer and very simple.

Also you are wrong that DVCpro HD is only 720p60. It also works in 1080i60 and 1080i50 which can be used to write 1080p25, which can be made from 1080p23.98 by speeding up the footage. This is a viable way to master 1080p24 material on DVCpro HD.
