Please test the small on-camera LCD's before you rely on one for focus, lighting, or iris. I've yet to see one that is adequate for any of those tasks.

I do love my little Astro, and the newer ones are greatly improved, but they are primarily suitable as large color viewfinders. I suspect you'll find that their image quality does not favorably compare to larger HD monitors, be they LCD or CRT. They are better than nothing and may serve as the only monitor in run and gun situations, but I find the zebra far more reliable for setting iris.
