A client of mine asked his top three clients (Sub-Zero, Miller Brewing and Harley Davidson) if they would pay an extra $100 per hour if he upgraded his Symphony to the Symphony HD. The answer was a resounding NO.

They are happy.

My client delivers trade show reels for multi-screem, multi-media presentations and they are setting up huge 4x3 screens. Much of what they do is shot on HD 24p and downconverted to DVCAM and edited as 4x3 letterbox. HD is used for the look and the 24p frame rate.

But HD is not delivered. In that way, HD has 50% of the production...it's used for acquisition, but not for posting.

In this example anyway.
