The overwhelming majority of our work goes out on VHS, with the rest accounted for by VCD. Any DVD work we get asked to do has been straight copying (copying a VHS tape to DVD, for instance.) None of our corporate clients have asked for DVDs. A recent client asked for 500 copies of their video on VHS with another 100 on VCD. DVD was not even mentioned!

VHS still seems to be the most popular format, I'm sure because of its reliabilty and the huge numbers of players out there - give someone a VHS tape and you can be 100% certain that they will take it home and be able to play it. Could you say the same about DVD? Don't get me wrong, I love commercial DVD, I'm just not sure that the technology of recordable DVD has reached a reasonable standard of compatibility. I don't know about you, but when a client walks out of our suite carrying a copy of their video, I don't want to be worrying about whether they'll be able to play it!
