OT? T1 vs Cable Modem

This may be a bit off topic. I'm having a discussion/argument with a friend. He has a T1 line. I have Comcast Cable Modem. I say a T1 line can only download up to 1.5 Mbps whereas a cable modem can download up to 10Mbps, so obbviously a cable modem is much, much faster. He says his T1 line downloads at 100Mbps! I say no way. I've searched all over the net but can't quite find the evidence I need. Can anyone clear this up for me? Which is faster, T1 or cable modem? And can you back that up with evidence or point me to some? Thanks!
